Following the signature of the landmark Paris Agreement in New York, the integration of gender considerations is more important now and ever before.
It is already well recognized that women play an important role in supporting households and communities to mitigate and adapt to climate change.
In order to boost resilience and limit the negative effects of climate change, countries, especially the LDCs will have to take action that take gender differences into account.
The LDC Group is hosting a panel discussion to highlight gender considerations in climate change in LDCs and their link to the UNFCCC processes.
This event is aimed to map out future activities for LDCs to integrate gender in national climate change related plans.
Speakers:
Tosi Mpanu-Mpanu, Chair of the LDC Group
Stella Gama, Malawi, LDC Group
Lorena Aguilar, IUCN
Bridget Burns, WEDO
Fleur Newman, UNFCCC
